Ty is a British rapper from London, perhaps one of their premier MCs. He's stayed neatly tucked into London, not venturing too far outside his home to make albums in the U.S.A. or to appear on other rappers' works. His style is distinctly British, uplifting, and brutally honest; Ty obviously doesn't feel he has to maintain a tough exterior for people to take him seriously. He's worked briefly with Mos Def and Talib Kweli, and released his first album in 2001, entitled Awkward. — Brad Mills
