Jack Allsopp wordt in 1976 in Noord Londen geboren. Hij brengt in 2002 onder de artiestennaam Just Jack zijn debuutalbum The Outer Marker uit. In 2007 volgt Overtones. Hierop rapt/praatzingt Jack op muziek die met name beïnvloed is door funk en hiphop. Ook bevat dit album een paar akoestische singer-songwriter nummers. Overtones haalt de 6e plaats in de Engelse albumlijst.
Over zijn artiestennaam zegt Jack Alsopp zelf: “I never had heroes and never wanted to be like other musicians", he says. "I have no affiliations to anyone, I'm not part of a gang, I'm not a part of a scene and I don't have a sound that's obviously a part of a scene. I'm Just Jack.”
