De vier heren van het Engelse Bloc Party gooien hoge ogen met hun debuutalbum 'Silent Alarm'. In hun thuisland lijkt het succes oneindig; na het succes van hun EP lijkt heel Engeland massaal te vallen voor de puntige pop-liedjes met vocalen die soms doen denken aan The Cure's Robert Smith. De rest van Europa volgt snel. Ze boekten in Nederland al succes met optredens tijden London Calling 2004 in Paradiso en in het voorprogramma van niemand minder dan Interpol. For what it's worth: Franz Ferdinand is fan!
